Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist, Biology

The Role

Responsible for initiating, designing and executing experiments that support scientific projects relevant to different immune related diseases. Ability to perform a variety of immune cell based in vitro assays utilizing both cellular and molecular biology techniques. Effectively communicate results and conclusions to cross-functional project teams.



  • Responsible for developing and carrying out in vitro immunological assays to support drug discovery.
  • Support scientists in developing new assays to advance key programs. For example: setting up of mixed lymphocyte reactions, Treg suppression assays, in vitro cytotoxicity assays
  • Partner with bioinformatics and metabolism scientists to analyze and interpret data to generate novel hypothesis and validate targets
  • Participate in drug-discovery efforts including developing novel assays for compound screening or biomarker identification


  •  Bachelors in Cellular and Molecular Immunology, cancer biology or Biochemistry with 5-8 years OR MS with 2-5 years relevant and extensive experience in immunology research and development in the Biotech industry
  •  Hands-on experience isolating and culturing immune cells in vitro; experience with cellular phenotyping by flow cytometry is a plus
  • Expertise in genetic manipulation using technologies such as CRISPR, shRNA, lentiviral/retroviral transduction, RNAi
  • Previous experience with flow cytometry, western blotting, ELISA, qPCR, and Seahorse techniques; knowledge of relevant data analysis software such as FlowJo and Prism
  • Previous experience working with and/or knowledge of mouse models of autoimmune disease is preferred
  • Experience with CRO management is a plus
  • Prior experience or track record in Immunometabolism a huge plus
  • Strong core competencies in molecular biology, cell biology and assay development
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot experiments independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to maintain accurate documentation of experiments in an electronic lab notebook
  • Collaborative, able to work effectively in a cross-functional matrixed organization
  • Innovative, creative thinker; able to apply a wide variety of scientific concepts to solve problems
